Course Description:

This training day will develop your skills and confidence as the Art subject leader.  It will look at how Art can be delivered effectively across your school, considering what makes for a quality Art curriculum.  This includes questions about vision and intent, progression and assessment

Participants will:

  • Explore the Intent, Implementation and Impact of the primary Art education.
  • Understand how you can undertake an audit of provision and develop effective planning to create an engaging curriculum throughout the primary years.
  • Explore practical art opportunities to provide ideas for creative approaches, investigation and experimenting including using and creating sketchbooks in primary art and design;
  • Know what progression looks like - the ‘learning journey’ in the art curriculum?
  • Evaluate your developments in school including action planning and cpd.

 

Course Leader: Jayne Stillman, Art Inspector and Adviser for Hampshire Inspection and Advisory Service
