This course explores the recently published Pre-Key Stage Standards which are used for reporting attainment at the end of KS1 and KS2. It is useful for SENCOs and leaders who need to be aware of accurate reporting.


This is a full day course.

Participants must bring evidence of Reading (including videos of children reading), Writing and Maths of pupils who they consider will be working within the Pre-Key Stage Standards. 


Why should I attend?

  • To understand fundamental ways of working for children with ASD
  • To develop a structured approach to teaching and learning across the day
  • To develop independence and task engagement
  • To develop structured teaching and learning beyond the workstation.


What will it cover?

  • Spend time looking at the statements within the standards and considering what is meant in the wording.
  • Look at the available exemplification documents that run alongside this
  • Consider the curriculum teachers could teach and evidence they could collect in order to make their judgements at the end of the year..
  • Examine work brought by themselves and colleagues and take part in professional dialogue.
  • Consider how we can track children’s progress using moderation against standards.

This is a full day course.

  • CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools who have purchased the CPD Package.
  • Pay as you go BDSIP members: For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
  • Pay as you go non-members: There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools which do not currently have BDSIP membership.
