This is a full day course.
Why should I attend and what will it cover?
- To explore the theoretical and historical landscape related to the teaching of phonics
- To understand the importance of early phonological development, providing meaningful activities to support this in your setting.
- To clarify subject knowledge around the terminology related to phonics teaching
- To get to know the expectations related to the pace and progression of learning
- To become familiar and confident with the basic phonic code and teaching of blending and segmenting
- To receive guidance for the teaching of synthetic phonics through knowing the lesson sequence
- To explore strategies for teaching Common Exception Words.

Pricing
This is a full day course.
Upon registration our booking system will correctly display the cost of this course based on your school package status.
- CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools that have purchased the CPD Package.
- Pay as you go BDSIP Members: For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
- Pay as you go non-members: There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools that do not currently have BDSIP membership.
